New Senior Researcher
The Chair of POM welcomes Dr. Mark Grothkopp as a new Senior Researcher from January 2025. He will work as a Director for the joint industry collaboration together with the Division Production Management at the Institute of Technology Management, University St.Gallen.
Mark has joined the Chair of Production and Operations Management (POM) at ETH Zürich as a Senior Researcher and Director, after having been a guest researcher since October 2024. He also serves as a Project Leader and Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Division Production Management at the Institute of Technology Management, University of St.Gallen. Leveraging his experience in industry collaborations, Mark will focus on managing and facilitating the joint initiative of the two institutions together with industry partners. In addition, he will continue his research on operational excellence programs, exploring strategies for their effective implementation and management.
Mark earned his PhD from the University of St.Gallen, where his thesis focused on the successful management of corporate improvement programs. Before pursuing his doctoral studies, Mark began his academic journey at Leuphana University Lüneburg in Lüneburg, Germany, completing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management & Engineering. Mark also gained valuable industry experience, working with renowned companies such as Beiersdorf, MTU Friedrichshafen, Jungheinrich, Ramboll Management Consulting, Philips Medical Systems, and STILL.
