New Doctoral Student

The Chair of POM welcomes Mr. Toshi Protsch as a new doctoral student from September 2024.

Toshi Protsch recently graduated with distinction from ETH Zürich in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in data science. His Master’s thesis, completed at Audi AG, focused on applying machine learning to enhance duration forecasting in automotive development projects.

With an international background, having lived in five different countries, Toshi brings a global perspective to his research. He has also gained valuable industry experience through internships at Dräger, focusing on Supply Chain Management, and at Beyond Gravity, where he worked as a test engineer for one year.

In his research, he aims to leverage machine learning and other quantitative methods to solve operational challenges faced by POM Chair’s industry partners, striving to deliver innovative solutions that improve overall productivity.

Outside of work, Toshi has a passion for sports. He enjoys playing soccer and squash, wakeboarding during summer, and skiing in the beautiful Swiss Alps in winter.
