POM spinoff EthonAI secures CHF 15m Series-A led by Index Ventures
We congratulate EthonAI, led by our alumni Dr. Julian Senoner and Dr. Bernhard Kratzwald, on securing an impressive Series A investment from the star venture fund Index Ventures in cooperation with General Catalyst, Earlybird, and Founderful. Index Ventures was an early investor in Dropbox, Meta, Slack, Etsy, and DeepL among others—and now also in EthonAI!
EthonAI is the company behind the Manufacturing Analytics System (MAS), redefining how manufacturers operate and improve their processes. It is also a spinoff of D-MTEC, ETH Zurich, and our group. It all started during a table soccer game between Julian, a doctoral student of Prof. Netland, and Bernhard, at that time a doctoral student of Prof. Stefan Feuerriegel and later a postdoc in Prof. Netland’s group. Julian and Bernhard played for much more than a game: they won a solution to a hard-to-solve manufacturing problem, an idea for a startup company, and a strong friendship. Fast forward a couple of years and EthonAI’s MAS is lifting eyebrows in manufacturing everywhere. EthonAI sets itself apart with the best-in-class software for manufacturing analytics and a mind-blowing talent pool of employees. It will be exciting to see what’s next for EthonAI.
