New Doctoral Student

Qixuan (Kevin) joins the POM team from the New Technologies department of Schindler Elevator Ltd. in Ebikon, Switzerland, where he was a Tech Scout, responsible for scouting new technologies, driving Proof-of-Concept pilots, fast prototyping, and IP generation. Based on the evaluation on both tech feasibility and business case, he also took care of the demonstrations, actively interacted with customers and stakeholders, and contributed to the scale-up/tech transfer. He successfully paved the stairs for mobile service robots by piloting the robot-lift API solution and contributed to the growth of the elevator digital ecosystem.

Qixuan holds a Master’s degree from ETH Zürich in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Electronic and Information Engineering. During his studies, Qixuan worked on the project external page PaintCopter at external page Disney Research Zürich, and also gained valuable practical experience at external page Flanders Make (Belgium) and Minilogic Device Corp. (HK). With various experience in the fields of Robotics, Data, AI, IoT and Electronics, Qixuan is looking forward to applying his industry insights in his doctoral research project and exploring the topics of AI in Manufacturing at the chair of POM.

Qixuan enjoys travelling, especially the foodie and architecture parts. In his spare time, you will most probably meet Qixuan at gyms and basketball courts!
