New article accepted for publication in Procedia CIRP
A new article accepted for presentation at CIRP CMS 2022 and publication in Procedia CIRP investigates the usage of augmented reality (AR) in manufacturing companies.

The research team consisting of Arne Seeliger, Torbjørn Netland, and Stefan Feuerriegel conducted a field study to investigate the usage of AR for machine setups.
The work was carried out with professional machine operators at the production facilities of Geberit Produktions AG in Switzerland. The researchers compared how work instructions delivered via an AR head-mounted display affected task performance and usability in comparison to work instructions on a tablet. Machine operators perceived the use of the AR device as positive and not mentally demanding. Task performance, however, was not improved when using the AR device, even though the machine operators felt it was. Based on the insights of the field study, the researchers provide recommendations for using AR devices in industry.
The article will be available shortly.
