Chair of POM wins the Nigel Slack Teaching Innovation Award at EurOMA 2021
With the FactoryVR application that we developed in cooperation with the Hilti AG, Prof. Netland and team won the Nigel Slack Teaching Innovation Award at EurOMA 2021.
The paper, “A virtual reality app for teaching operations management” by Torbjørn Netland, Rafael Lorenz, Daniel Kwasnitschka, and Julian Senoner, went all the way to the top in this year’s teaching contest. The paper describes how we use Virtual Reality to teach our core POM course and reports measured effects on learning experience and learning outcomes. This innovation was a key part of our bronze medal in the Oscar’s of Education in 2020 and is further described in a Whitepaper published earlier.
