Member of the World Economic Forum’s Network of Global Future Councils
Prof. Netland is invited by Prof. Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, to be a Member of the Forum’s Network of Global Future Councils 2020-2021.

The Forum’s network of external page Global Future Councils (GFC) is “the world’s foremost multistakeholder and interdisciplinary knowledge network dedicated to promoting innovative thinking to shape a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable future.” In 2020-2021, there are 40 Global Future Councils working to create a fairer, sustainable, and resilient future. The GFC is a by-invitation-only network, consisting of less than 1000 of “the most relevant and knowledgeable thought leaders from academia, government, international organizations, business and civil society, grouped in expertise-based thematic councils” (WEF). Prof. Netland is invited to join the GFC on Advanced Manufacturing and Production.
According to the Forum, the GFC on Advanced Manufacturing and Production gathers the foremost experts from around the world to shed light on the role of advanced manufacturing technologies in shaping the future of operations and business models. This council consists of around 20 thought leaders from all over the globe. Prof. Netland has earlier been a Fellow to the same council in two terms (2016-2017 and 2019-2020). The new term as a full Member of the GFC runs from October 2020 to September 2021.
We congratulate Prof. Netland for this honor and are proud that the Chair of POM contributes to a better and more inclusive world with our expertise on manufacturing and productivity improvement.
