POM Network Company Visit 2022 at Lindt & Sprüngli
On November 9, another POM Network Company Visit took place. This year, Lindt & Sprüngli (Schweiz) AG invited us to their headquarters in Kilchberg, ZH.
The afternoon started with a presentation on the company and the challenges Lindt & Sprüngli is currently facing. In addition, we discussed the importance of both brand and location for the Swiss company. Afterwards, we visited the chocolate production – an insight that is rarely possible and therefore the absolute highlight of our visit.
In three small groups, the participants were able to gain detailed insights into the production of raw chocolate, the moulding as well as the packaging of various chocolate products. There was enough time for the many questions, which mainly revolved around the particularities of the food industry. During the factory tour, everyone became aware that the digitalisation of such a production operation brings both great potential and many challenges. At the Kilchberg site, Lindt & Sprüngli meets these with sophisticated, individualised solutions, while always focusing on the quality of the end product.
The factory tour was followed by an aperitif at Lindt Home of Chocolate, which left nothing to be desired in both sweet and savoury terms. Here we were able to exchange thoughts, discuss new ideas and further network.
