Professor Netland holds keynote speech for onboarding World Economic Forum fellows
On December 15, Prof. Netland holds an invited keynote speech for the World Economic Forum Global Future Councils Fellows inaugural meeting. His talk is titled “Improving the state of the world” and showcase how the Forum can act as a platform to create, learn, and disseminate knowledge that improves the state of the world.

The World Economic Forum’s network of Global Future Councils is the world’s foremost multistakeholder and interdisciplinary knowledge network dedicated to promoting innovative thinking to shape a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable future. The network convenes more than 1000 of the most relevant and knowledgeable thought leaders from academia, government, international organizations, business and civil society, grouped in expertise-based thematic councils. It is an invitation-only community and members are nominated for a one-year period. GFC Fellows are postdoctoral scholars at leading universities who are disposed with a future-looking and systems-oriented mindset. Fellows play a crucial role in councils by being responsible for capturing, synthesizing and disseminating knowledge and insights from the councils’ deliberations. As part of the Global Future Councils, Fellows contribute to shaping the global agenda and interact with luminaires in their field.
Prof Netland is currently a Member of the GFC on Advanced Manufacturing and Production, where he has served as a Fellow in the two peridos 2017-2018 and 2019-2020.
