First POMMIES Art Award!
On Thursday, 30. April 2023, the first POMMIES Art Award took place.
A total of 33 art works relating to the work at the Chair of POM were submitted. The submitted works featured a great diversity ranging from industrial photography to statistical plots. At the vernissage, co-curated by Adrian Notz and Katalin Tesch, 10 particularly outstanding works were presented.
'Dripping, somewhat spiky, puzzling statistics (on Canvas)' and 'Really spiky puzzling statistics (on Canvas),' a byproduct of a recent data analysis Oliver conducted for a side project, was an immediate favourite among the jury members. A combination of intense, expressive colours and shapes, and the witty title made this work the overall winner of the POMMIES in 2023.
